This will be a busy year for gaming legislation throughout America with sports betting, online gaming, slot routes and casino expansion all on the agenda, according to the Legislative Preview 2021? published by Fantini Research.

The Preview, written by Fantini Research Director of Public Policy Laura Briggs covers all states where significant gaming legislation is likely.

Among the prime possibilities are legalizing online sports betting in New York and Connecticut, debating the legalization of casinos and other forms of gambling in the southern states of Alabama, Georgia and Texas, and debating legalization of slot routes in Pennsylvania and Missouri, according to the special report.

In addition, the Biden administration is likely to be more friendly to gaming, especially in reversing the Trump Department of Justice’s restrictive view of the 1961 Wire Act as outlawing interstate online gambling, Briggs writes.
